Give as you earn

Donate each month from your pay slip or pension. At no extra cost to you, the taxman gives IHP the tax on your donation so we can change more lives for the better.

It’s the easiest and most tax-effective way to donate regularly to IHP. Your tax contribution, which would usually go to HMRC, will now be put towards supporting IHP in delivering life-saving medicine around the world.

How we use your gift to bring lasting change

Treating non-communicable diseases

Although medicines for managing diabetes or hypertension are relatively low-cost, many simply cannot afford them. Your legacy gift can help to make these vital medicines available for free, preventing avoidable deaths or disabilities that leave those affected unable to work.

Funding emergency response work

Whether we are responding to natural or manmade disasters, your legacy gift can help to make systemic changes. Our medical donations are often a turning point in improving access to medicines for communities in crisis.

Promoting sustainable health projects

Legacy giving helps us to plan and implement global healthcare projects over the longer term. Your gift will bring lifesaving and life-changing impact for future generations. Providing hope for years to come.

I earn a salary – what next?

Step 1: Ask your employer about it

If your employer supports payroll giving, you can simply ask them to set up your monthly donation to IHP.

If not, they can easily set up payroll giving by contacting the Charity Aid Foundation or choosing a payroll giving agency.

If you earn a pension instead of a salary, find out how to get started and donate to IHP:

Step 2: Choose how much you want to donate & check if you need to pay a fee

You can give as much or as little as you like. If you donate £10.00 a month, only £8.00 comes out of your salary and the HMRC pays the rest, whilst IHP will receive the full £10.00 donation.

A small fee (typically 2-4%) is usually applied to your donation. Some employers will offer to cover this fee so that IHP receives the full donation amount.

Step 3: Make your first donation and get updates

Your first donation should be made the next payday. Your donation is very important to us. If you give us permission, we would like to say thank you and send you updates on the impact your support is making to people's lives around the world.

Step 4: Make changes to your giving (as needed)

You can stop donating or change the amount you give each month by notifying your payroll/HR department.

Your payroll giving donation will stop if you leave your job. You will be able to set up your donation again at your new employer by following these steps with your new employer.
