Mihret is 18 years old with a 2-year-old daughter, Hirut. They live in Semera and came to the hospital at 9pm last night as Hirut was struggling to breathe.
She was diagnosed with pneumonia and was on intermittent oxygen and salbutamol. Due to the inpatient paediatric ward being at capacity, they had to stay outside in the corridor of the hospital.
Mihret explained, “I didn’t mind that we had to stay out here in the corridor, which is situated outside, as the wards are hot and crowded, and there are a lot of patients with infectious diseases that may put my daughter at risk. She is still a little breathless, but the clinical team hope she will be well enough to return home in a few days. I am glad to see my daughter is looking better today, as she was not well yesterday.”
